The look of the headphones is shiny and modern, while the processing is typical for everyday use. The only doubt I have is the long-term suitability of the soft artificial leather cover of the ear cushions.

The ergonomics are also nice. There are five buttons next to the connections for the USB charging cable and the passive cable operation on the right earphones: the on/off switch, which also serves for pairing, the switch for active noise cancelling and a third for the track control. The middle button is used to start and stop the music, to accept a phone call or use the voice assistant in the smartphone. The outer buttons adjust the volume and jump between songs.

The feel of the Tune600BTNC is comfortable and well-adjustable thanks to the padding of the adjustable strap and its rotating earpieces. At the same time, the headphones are pleasantly light and can be quickly stowed away by folding in the earpieces.

Unlike the Tune500BT, the Tune600BTNC has active noise cancelling. The function can be quickly switched on and off but not further regulated. It improves the rather low passive damping. A complete decoupling of the environment should not be expected here, rather a low-noise background noise reduction and an improvement in the “noise gap”. In practice, I found the insulation in public transport as rather low, with the advantage that voice announcements, such as on the bus, remained audible—at moderate volumes, of course, because the Tune600BTNC can be quite loud.

Comfort levels are high, the 12-hour battery is more than good enough for most scenarios, and the noise-cancelling is decent for the money. The weighty, bassy delivery is a real draw for many people, although for others it might be a little overpowering. Like a big bottom end? With that said, the E7 Pro Bluetooth headphones still aren’t pushing for the best for audio quality, their noise cancelling headphones first, and listening devices second.

These wireless headphones kick noise canceling up a notch by having a noise reduction depth of 30db, which is a solid improvement over the Cowin E7’s 28db. People talking nearby won’t be as noticeable, or distracting. You’re getting a better overall performance boost.

If there was anything that didn’t get a noticeable improvement, it was the mic. Sure, the battery is still 30 hours, but it’s much more efficient. You’ll get 30 hours consistently, and it does this by reducing the max audio volume a bit.

JLab Audio has been making workout earbuds for some time now, and the Epic Air Sport ANC are the latest pair made to use routinely while breaking a sweat. The IP66 rating gives them enough ruggedness to work out or go on a run in such scenarios. However, they're not really made to be waterproof, so careful around any body of water.

The combination of ear hooks and six pairs of ear tips make these comfortable and stable enough to stay in your ears, provided you don't mind a little extra bulk in size. What's cool is JLab also changes things up with the tips, so you get different sizes, but also different lengths and materials, including foam. A good passive seal always helps, though you do have ANC support to block out background noise when you need to. If you need to hear your surroundings, you can use the Be Aware mode to do that as well.

The value of the Epic Air Sport ANC is planted firmly in the features. Nearly everything these buds offer pushes the boundaries of what we previously thought was possible in this price range. Honestly, if we were to judge things exclusively by features, it’s not fair for other buds to have to try and compete when the Epic Air Sport ANC are this good for this cheap.

First, battery life: The Epic Air Sport ANC are rated for 15 hours of battery life per charge without ANC, plus an extra 55 hours of life (!) in the charging case. With ANC on, playback time drops to 11 hours. They also have a quick-charge feature that nets you an hour of playback after 15 minutes in the case. A far less miraculous, though still appreciated, feature is the Epic Air Sport ANC’s wear detection sensor that automatically pauses a track when a bud is removed from your ear, and resumes said track once you fit the bud back in. I thoroughly despise losing entire minutes of podcasts to earbuds that lack this feature, so believe me when I say I’m personally ecstatic these come equipped with such a handy perk.

On-ear headphones aren't as common or popular as over-ear cans, but they are lighter and easier to wear in most cases. Jabra didn't make the Elite 45h all that fancy on the outside, but it's what's on the inside that counts.

In terms of design, the Elite 45h is a total 180 from its more durable and premium sibling. Nonetheless, the end result is much better than you might expect from a pair of $100 headphones. The slim profile, bold colorways, and copper accents give the Elite 45h a chic, luxe appearance similar to the Harman Kardon Soho Wireless.

The lightweight (5.6 ounces) feel and mostly plastic construction may have you thinking these headphones are flimsy as hell. I won’t lie, they are, but nowhere near as bad as some of the market’s other cheapies.

Jabra does a reasonable job of reinforcing the exterior with a sturdy casing, while also creating the extenders out of anodized aluminum to reassure users the headphones won’t easily break. The flexible headband does seem like it will snap if stretched to the max, but it’s unlikely. That’s not to say I would leave it unattended around kids or a dog. 

When it comes to comfort, the Elite 45h is pleasant to wear for about 2 to 3 hours. The insubstantial weight doesn’t make the headphones encumbering, nor does the headband’s rubber padding apply unwanted pressure on the skull. The leatherette covering on the earpads also feels gentle on the skin, though the “soft and moldable memory foam” isn’t very cushiony; there were times I noticed my ears pressing up against the dispersion plates.

Battery life hits crazy levels if you listen at the default volume throughout. It's the only way you'll get to 50 hours, but even if you were to raise it, you'd still be north of 30 hours without blinking an eye. On top of that, Jabra adopted USB-C for these headphones, moving on from Micro-USB in its past on-ear models.

This new model shares almost nothing in common with the older one outside the name.
